Summary: The Vista HCx has it all
Comment: The Vista HCx Is the best GPS I ever used. I have owned the etrex, the venture,and now the Vista HCx. This small machine is a wonder. Besides a wide range of features, I appreciated the most the battery life, the color screen and n exceptionally sensitive antenna. When I first unpacked it from the box (I live in Lebanon, Middle East, it took so little time to discover 3 satellites and that's from inside the house, 2-3 meters away from the nearest window. The regular Vista took about 20 minutes on the first run and in dense forests I lost coverage for long distances. I used it on my snowmobile, my ATV and in my Mercedes Gwagen without any problem. It's completely waterproof and works fine in extremely cold weather conditions. The Vista batteries lasted for at most 10 hours, while the HCx could run on up to three times that tiem on two batteries. It's connectivity is great (the serial cable of the models before gave me a hard time). One only drawback is that its' accessories such as the power cable are very expensive. I recommend the Vista HCx for everybody who plans to buy a GPS. You won't be sorry

Summary: eTrex Vista HCx
Comment: Great product. It's simple to use but finding cities and other locations (not waypoints) not within your area is difficult. Other wise, a great product. Very good for geocaching, allthough it seems to jump around when near buildings. I like how it fits in one hand and how I can use that hand to press the buttons.

Summary: Essential Gear for fun
Comment: My recent purchase of this Garmin GPS was an exact replacement for one that was so rudely stolen from the front seat of my car. To me it is essential equipment for having fun...my hiking, road trips, and especially geocaching. It's the perfect size for me to carry hiking, reception of this Vista HCX is much better than previous models, and fun to check out what's at the next exit on road trips. It actually does much more than I do, or know how to do, with it, but easy enough once you get used to it. I truly consider it to be essential rather than luxury in my outdoor fun and adventures.

Summary: Best buy, the difference between this one and the Cx is notorious!!!
Comment: I was a little bit sketipcal when I bought it, but as soon as I turned on
I saw the speed, actually I have both gps, I'm trying the get ride of the Cx. The only thing missing is a termometer and floating.

Anyway I really happy with this item.
