Summary: Trust technology and the stress goes away.
Comment: This is the first GPS unit I have owned and I love it. I just got it and tested it around town here in San Francisco and it worked flawlessly. I would take a wrong turn on purpose and the time it took to recalculate was very fast. Just got back from San Diego and it took all the stress out of driving all around San Diego and the surrounding areas. I did have to consult a map once because the unit couldn't guess what street I wanted from how I was spelling the name. Other than that, the maps sat in a cubby gathering dust.

If I have a complaint at this time, it would be that the on screen keyboard is not in a QUERTY layout. The letters are merely laid out in alphabetical order. It is something you are not used to doing and it can be VERY frustrating. I searched the Garmin website and they have offered QUERTY layouts in the past. I see no reason to not continue to offer it.

Summary: great toy for the road
Comment: The Garmin c530 is a great item to have on the road. It took us a little while to learn how it works and to get through the menus and sub-menus, but we figured it out on a long road trip and it is great! You can find the nearest rest stop up the road, the nearest gas station or restaurant, and it will even tell you where the KOAs and WalMarts are on your route if you are so inclined. As you go down the road, it will tell you about roadside attractions. It starts up fast and locks onto the satellites very quickly, even in downtown areas with lots of tall buildings. We are having a lot of fun with it and it is worth every penny we spent on it. By the way, we bought ours for $199 at the Cabela's in Sidney NE. But if you can get it for $220 - $230 it is still a bargain. No need to get anything more commplex than the c530. Everything else is just bells and whistles. Get the c530. You'll like it.

Summary: Excellant Product
Comment: It is always nice when a product works as advertised. The Garmin StreetPilot c530 does just that. While I only got [slightly, I am a man after all] lost once since I got it [about a month] it saved me lots of wasted time. I would have stopped to ask directions, but there was no place to stop. Thanks Garmin. If you get it you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Great GPS at any price
Comment: This GPS is very good - Its one real shortcoming being that it doesn't announce street names, which might be helpful depending on conditions.
It is, however, exceedingly easy to use and extremely accurate and helpful. The graphics are very cool and the maps are very detailed - and most importantly it gets you where you want to go safely and efficiently - it even taught me a new way to get home which shaves a few minutes off my extremely lengthy commute!
For those crybabies who say "Waaah!, it doesn't have an MP3 player or games and it doesn't cook my meals and i can't fit it in a matchbox and it doesn't stop me from wetting the bed..." You don't want a GPS, you want an Iphone - this fills its function perfectly. You would be a fool to spend more than $150 on GPS because this GPS is near perfect. And you're too old to be wetting the bed. No wonder you're alone.

Summary: GarminStreetPilot c530 Vehicle GPS Navigator
Comment: I am very pleased with this product. It is easy to use and also reliable. My brother-in-law has a TomTom which is harder to program.
