Summary: Great right out of the box!
Comment: I got this unit about a week ago, after seeing it in numerous stores at $500. It fits in the windshield of my pickup ABOVE the rearview mirror, and is unseen from outside the vehicle, yet easily viewed while driving. And NO worries about a ticket for having my vision obstructed while driving either. Used it to travel to a party about 40 miles away in BFE and it took us right to the street.... and told us to turn into the wrong driveway. Then I realized I typed in the wrong house number!

All in all, a wonderful unit, and it has made my wife question the price of the $1000 GPS Navigation option built into her sportscar.

Much easier to use than the unit i use when in the woods, wish the Geko series was as user friendly!

Summary: A wonderful travel companion!
Comment: I purchased my Garmin c530 last year. I've used it frequently to find local addresses and I've also taken it on several road trips. I have found it to be reliable, accurate, and easy to use. I've tried several other GPS navigation systems in rental cars, and this one is as good, or better, than anything I've used. The best feature of all, is that the unit is portable. It can move with you to whatever car you are driving, and you can always keep it with you to avoid theft. I'm sure there are many other equally good GPS units out there, but for the price, this would be difficult to beat. Be sure to check out Garmin's website for additional accessories and downloads.

Summary: Like a cell phone, now that I've had one I'll Never Go Back!
Comment: I think this is one of the greatest devices I've used yet! There are SOOO many more uses for it than one might think! I used it recently in the bank to double check a zip code on an address I mostly knew while at the same time finding out exactly how long I had to stand in line. My only gripe is that there is no way to 'draw in' my own streets or bldngs in the mapping software, but it is the same software most of these dohickeys use. Easy to use and helps with those turns I always have trouble with! It's identical to the c550 except the 530 has no blue tooth which doesn't bother me! Get's better reception than the one one step down.
