Summary: Simple GPS Navigator
Comment: The Garmin StreetPilot c530 is a simple GPS navigation system. It adopts quickly if you chose to deviate from the route it picks. It gives ample warning for up coming turns so that you do not need Street Names. Its lack of announcing street names, lack of use as a cell phone or iPod makes it a pleasure to use it for the one thng it was designed for; Get from Here to There. The friction base (available from Garmin not the one Amazon incorrectly claims it will work with) is easy to move from car to car and to reposition so that it does not interfere with driving.

Summary: Good product with good 'Amazon' price
Comment: I have read a lot of reviews on several web sites for other Garmin models before purchasing c530.

The main reason of choosing c530 is the feature of "high-sensitivity GPS receiver maintains signals under heavy foliage and near city skyscrapers ", some of the reviews on other models complained about "lost signal" and "missing the turn" (prompting you to turn right ONLY AFTER you missed it). I attributed them to the fact that the devices lost GPS signals and couldn't determine precisely where you were. I have used c530 for several weeks, I haven't encounter any of these problems.

Amazon has a good price for the unit, plus free shipping and free tax.

Summary: Simple and Amazing
Comment: I gave the Garmin to my husband for Christmas. He skimmed the instructions and we were using it that same morning. Once you key in the first few letters of an address, it will provide you a drop down menu of streets and you just have to select what you want! I was able to use it right away too - now that's saying something! Only one issue, we were traveling and used the security code to lock the system so no one else could use it and when we keyed in our code, we did it too fast and it locked up! YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE to key in your code! We had to drive back to our secure location - home and it automatically unlocked. That was the only issue with it. Otherwise, simple and awesome!

Summary: Excellent product for the price.
Comment: This wonderful little thing allowed us to venture out to areas that otherwise would have been avoided by us. I have owned this since Christmas and have driven for approx 3000 miles since then. Now it has become indispensable part of our driving.

Experiences:
- We drove to our friend's place in suburb Boston from NYC and it brought us to the door without a hitch. Same with Philly and NJ suburbs and Westchester.
- However, we did ran into a problem once. We drove around Woodbridge, NJ and Garmin could not recognize the road we were driving on (ie does not exist on the map). The road was leading to the entrance of NJ turnpike (exit 11) and was definitely not a new road.
- Nevertheless, it's still a 5 star product.
- If we saw traffic on the route, we just hit 'detour' and it automatically selects another way. Awesome.

PS. I compared it to my friend's c330. I think the screen quality alone is worth the $70 upgrade. I did not test the calculation speed, etc.
