Summary: excellent product!
Comment: My friends got me into geocaching, and they both had this unit so i figured it was a good place to start. After reading all the reviews, it definitely stood out as one of the best units, and after buying it, it is undoubtedly an excellent product.
My ONE complaint with this unit, is the 30 character limit on the notes. In today's day and age where you can buy the micro-SD cards in gigabyte sizes, there really is no excuse for that.
Otherwise, i have absolutely no concerns or problems with this unit. It is easy to use, and solidly built.
Definitely a recommended unit!

Summary: The perfect hand held GPS
Comment: It's just what I was looking for. I can see where I am on Maps; see which direction I'm going in and/or need to be going in using the Compass; see how fast I've been going; see where I've gone with Tracks; mark where I've been with Waypoints; view my elevation changes via the Altimeter. I'm very happy with my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx!

Summary: Excellent for field work
Comment: We have a wildlife consulting firm and often send Biologists and technicions into remote areas to collect data. The Garmin 60CSx is everyone's favorite for pinpointing where they are and providing location data for the record. Reliable, accurate and easy to pack.

Summary: VERY SIMPLE
Comment: I'm not even going to go into detail on the technical capacity of this unit. Having spent almost 20 years struggling with terrible e trex things, 12XL's and their external antennas, geckos and the like, finally Garmin have got it right. If you are going into the rainforest, or any other forest for that matter, BUY THIS GPS. It is fast, extremely accurate and works even under thick canopy cover. For years we couldn't understand wy Garmin didn't upgrade the 12XL and we've even been buying reconditioned units as this was still the only machine that (with its ext. antenna) worked in the forest. The 60CSx is their answer and it works like a treat. This is as good as you can get for a reliable GPS for forest field-work. Plain and simple

Summary: Superb GPS Unit
Comment: I bought this unit to replace the buggy and unreliable Lowrance i350 that I have used for the past 8 months. The 60CSx acquires satellites very quickly, is highly sensitive in my car, and has most of the features of a larger dash-mounted nav unit--except the bluetooth and MP3 bells and whistles that you don't really need or want.

It is very intuitive to use and setup, and exceptionally user friendly. I lay it on the seat next to me while I drive and look at it as needed.

This is such an exceptional product that it has me thinking of buying one of Garmin's dash-mounted cousins for our other vehicle.

For an all around hand held you will not go wrong buying the 60CSx, and that's from someone who now has driven thousands of miles following its guidance without getting lost.
